Hi SFPE SD Members,

Our next meeting of this year will be TUESDAY February 18th. If you still renew your chapter dues for the year, $30. You can do so at this upcoming meeting! 

The SFPE SD Chapter is pleased to announce that the speaker for our February meeting will be Joseph Cervantes from Space Age Electronics. He will be talking about the application of NFPA 241 and mitigation plans during construction. Be sure to bring all your questions!

Speaker: Joseph Cervantes – Western Regional Business Development Manager at Space Age Electronics

Topic: This presentation will be discussing NFPA 241 with preconstruction fire dangers and an easy mitigation plan for the FPE professionals to consider in their projects and to start a discussion around what we can all collectively do to mitigate this risk.

Highly suggested for Contractor, General Contractors, Safety Managers, Superintendents, Project Managers, FPE’s, & FPO’s.

Bio: Mr. Cervantes has been working in the fire protection and life safety field since 1996, beginning his career as an Installer and progressing through the field ranks to become a Project Manager, and Operations Manager for 2 very large organizations in Southern California. Mr. Cervantes has now moved his talents to the Manufacturing world, to bring about a change to the level of integration opportunities available to all of the Life Safety industry with innovative products and modifications to many of the pre-existing methodologies of installations.

His past experience included the management of projects in all vertical markets from K-12, Higher Education, Government, Commercial, Residential, High Rise and Clean Room application.

Now the Western Region Business Development Manager for Space Age Electronics, Cervantes’ responsibility is the growth and development of Space Age presence in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska & Hawaii, providing solutions to complicated fire protection engineering and building code-based problems. He also serves as the Treasurer for SFPE in San Diego and the Secretary of The Board for the California Automatic Fire Alarm Association.

Outside of fire protection, Mr. Cervantes enjoys a daily trip to the gym, photography, dancing and travel.
